Paul and Jessie Duncan have lost their beloved eight year-old son Adam in a tragic accident. As they are arranging for his burial, Dr. Richard Wells, approaches with the incredible offer to clone Adam, essentially bringing back their boy and reuniting their broken family. Despite the many legal, ethical and moral issues raised by the offer, the grieving couple, after much soul searching, accept Wells' proposal, placing them in a sort of Faustian pact with the doctor. But to the Duncans, the secrecy Wells demands is insignificant compared to the hope that their son will again have the chance to grow up. The couple moves to the small town of Riverton, home of Wells' impressive Godsend Fertility Clinic, where the stem cells carrying Adam's DNA are implanted in Jessie's womb and where Adam will be born and raised for the second time. Adam's new life follows a comfortable and, to Paul and Jessie, predictable pattern, until he reaches his eighth birthday and virtually begins living on borrowed time. The parents have placed their complete trust in Dr. Wells, but now questions are raised and they start to wonder: just how far did he really go? Did he settle for simply playing God? Once they unravel the horrific truth, Paul and Jessie Duncan will have to come to terms with what they have done, and what has been done to their family.
From the makers of The Last Exorcism comes a boldly original vision of horror. What if the most chilling novel of all time was actually based on a true account of a horrific experiment gone awry? When he is suspended from his university job for his outlandish ideas, Professor John Venkenheim leads a documentary film crew to the rim of the Arctic Circle in a desperate effort to vindicate his academic reputation. His theory: Mary Shelley's ghastly story, "Frankenstein," is, in fact, a work of non-fiction disguised as fantasy. In the vast, frozen wilderness, Venkenheim and his team search for the legendary monster, a creature mired in mystery and drenched in blood. What they find is an unspeakable truth more terrifying than any fiction...a nightmare from which there is no waking
Dashing legionnaire Rick O'Connell and Beni, his weasel of a companion, stumble upon the hidden ruins of Hamunaptra while in the midst of a battle in 1923--3,000 years after Imhotep has suffered a fate worse than death--mummification, in which his body wil remain undead for all eternity as punishment for forbidden love. Some years later, as O'Connell languishes in prison awaiting an almost certain execution, he finds that his knowledge of the exact location of Hamunaptra becomes a bargaining tool to save his life. The legendary riches buried beneath the sands of Hamunaptra have become an obsession with both treasure-hunters and archeologists, and O'Connell finds himself in an unlikely alliance with the beautiful, but clumsy Egyptologist Evelyn and her ne'er-do-well brother, Jonathan. The trio leave Cairo for a journey which will take them down the Nile, across the treacherous expanse of the Sahara and to an encounter with a malevolent force with power beyond their imagination.
